Surface Techniques with Terra Sigillata

This is not as esoteric as it sounds for some of you…It is the fired material I use on my work that is quite different from glazing. It yields a soft, sensual gleam but is not glassy. Pre-requisite: previous ceramics experience or past/current enrollment in Bas-Relief Class.

  • Dates: Friday January 13th – Sunday January 15th 2012
  • Cost: $275 + $30 for materials and firing

Portland Open Studios 2011

Watch Artists at Work!

• Oct. 8th & 9th 10am – 5pm
• Oct. 15th & 16th 10am – 5pm

A unique opportunity to experience art as it is being made in the artist’s own space. In their studios, watch any of 100 artists who paint, sculpt, draw, print, throw, carve, sew, and more. Ask about their tools and techniques. Learn more about art from the artists themselves.

Indulge your curiosity and buy a Tour Guide. Walk, bike, drive or bus to studios around the Portland metro area. My studio is located at 2216 SE 50th Ave. Portland 97211 (#85 on the tour map).

You are welcome to visit my studio gratis; if you wish to take the tour to other artists’ studios I will have a Tour Guide with Map ($15) or the Map-only option ($5) when you visit me please contact me at 503-236-8589 if you’d like to purchase a ticket before the event, or you may purchase it at New Seasons markets, Art Media, or on-line at www.portlandopenstudios.org.
